Finance Commissioner briefs House Finance, Ways and Means Committee on budget outlook

The Commissioner of Finance and Administration, Dave Goetz, addressed the House Finance, Ways and Means Committee this week. This was the first Finance meeting for newly appointed member Rep. Kevin Brooks. “Being on the important Finance Ways and Means Committee during this critical financial time for our state is both an honor and a serious endeavor,” stated Brooks. “I am grateful to be at the Finance table and hope to not only be a part of the solutions for our state, but for Cleveland and Bradley County as well,” Brooks continued.

Rep. Kevin Brooks “very thankful” for prominent Committee Assignments

Nashville -- State Representative Kevin Brooks (R-Cleveland) who is beginning his second term in the Tennessee House of Representatives is off to a promising start as the 106^th General Assembly gets under way. In addition to being elected Vice Chair of the Republican Caucus, Rep. Brooks has now been assigned to four House committees,

including the influential Finance Ways & Means Committee and two sub-committees. Rep. Brooks was selected as Vice-Chair of Children & Family Affairs and added to the Education and the House Rules Committee. Rep. Brooks was also selected Vice-Chair

of the Domestic Relations sub-committee and as a member of Higher Ed sub-committee.

Rep. Kevin Brooks takes Oath of Office in 106th General Assembly

(NASHVILLE), January 13, 2009--State Representative Kevin Brooks (R-Cleveland) was among the 99 members of the Tennessee House of Representatives taking the oath of office this week in Nashville. The oath was administered as state lawmakers organized the business of the 106th General Assembly.

“It is an honor to have the privilege of serving the citizens of the 24^th District. I look forward to getting to work and to represent my constituents,” said Rep. Brooks.
